my beryl

I just installed Beryl on my Ubuntu Edgy Eft. Click here to full view.

Its really nice to have a cube like windows manager in my ubuntu, I’m really addicted to it. Hahai.

There’s only one problem though. I can’t work with Blender while Beryl is running. Beryl will crash. This problem is also a big problem by most people running ATI+fglrx+XGL+beryl, see the thread here. Huhuhuhu!

Ohh my!! I really love using my pc with beryl running. Felt like my pc is always in 3d. hehehehe

XGL+Beryl is really amazing unlike the Yod’m3d in windowsXP. Hmmmmm. Even though theres a video running, beryl will still play that video while in the 3d cube mode, and Yod’m3d just don’t use to run like that. See? Theres really a big difference on using Windows and Ubuntu. bwahahahhahha!

Btw, I want to thank the people who helped me in installing Beryl:

Thanks so much!!!

GIMP vs Photoshop

If you ask one of the Gimp developers, they will tell you that it is as they intended. The Gimp was not intended to be another Photoshop clone. As a matter of fact, the Gimp developers got mightily pissed when they heard about Gimpshop, a project to change the hierarchial menus in the Gimp to more closely resemble those of Photoshop.

The thing is, the Gimp is not Photoshop. If you’re a long-time Photoshop user, the Gimp is going to feel weird. Things are not in the same places and sometimes they’re called different things, but you can still get the same things accomplished, visually, as long as you’re not hoping to get your images commercially printed.

      Read More here

byeThat’s what I don’t like on other people. They keep on comparing softwares. Something like “Hey don’t use GIMP because its just limited, just use photoshop”. Huh? Limited? Why? Can you use Photoshop to its fullest level? Well actually not. Maybe one uses photoshop for common tasks that the typical home user is going to require out of a bitmap editor is covered by the Gimp. Well its not on the tools itself. It’s what an artist can do…

That’s the real hanger is the user interface. Unlike other professions which happen to take place on a computer, graphics artists are almost never geeks. Geeks explore an interface, practice with it, read the manual on it, and when they discover the scripting language buried within (Gimp has scheme), they’re bowled over at how cool it is. Graphics artists aren’t like that. They’re right-brained all the way; they’re here to draw, not write programs. And when they learn one way to make the computer do what they want, that’s a sacrifice of time which they can never again be asked to do. Learning a new interface is painful for anybody, but it seems to be simply unacceptable for the graphics artist.

byeHmmmmmmm…Am I a geek? I like to explore interfaces, practice with it, I even read the manual of Blender, learn some python things for Blender. Ohh my!! I never thought I have some geekness in me. *grin*

my new desktop

Hi to all!!! My blog is back to normal!!! And I’m really happy to it. Tnx to all the blogsome team for making this blog back to normal. Back to posting some cool topics. char :D

My theme for my desktop vanished last January 3 when my brother burned a DVD. It burned 100% success in Nero but it didn’t eject. So the program hanged up. My brother just closed Nero and rebooted. At the start up. The arrangement of my icons (or whatever) using Avedesk was all vanished. I forgot to save that arrangement or that theme. What the heck!!!

That was the story. I didn’t fix it the same way I did it back then. Because I was just unenthusiastic enough. I was roaming deviantart.com, finding some new dock icons and a cool wallpaper. I didn’t find one. Heck!!!

my new Desktop

And here’s my new desktop!!! Using the icons that my brother had back on his old files. Some are nice so I used the simple ones. I just used Object Dock for the tabbed dock support. Wallpaper by Soa Lee (Ocean Nymph). Visual Theme is Pristine OS 1.2. I’m really contented by my new and simple desktop by now. weeeeeeeeee!!!!!

The Beauty of CSS Design

The Road to Enlightenment

Littering a dark and dreary road lay the past relics of browser-specific tags, incompatible DOMs (Document Object Model), and broken CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) support.

Today, we must clear the mind of past practices. Web enlightenment has been achieved thanks to the tireless efforts of folk like the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium), WaSP (Web Standards Project) and the major browser creators.

The css Zen Garden invites you to relax and meditate on the important lessons of the masters. Begin to see with clarity. Learn to use the (yet to be) time-honored techniques in new and invigorating fashion. Become one with the web.

emoticonWell I’ve been learning CSS a couple of days by now. And still I’m learning from the codes and tutorials in the net. And luckily as I read ~The Zen of CSS Design: Visual Enlightenment for the Web~, I got a time to visit their site. whhhhheeew!!! I learned a lot but still I’m a super noob in CSS. I hope someday I can contribute to csszengarden.com

visual style (Pristine OS)

It was months from now that I was so damn confused on where to find some cool visual style that is mainly a black theme for windowsXP. And when I read the post of Timothy Te at Bonfire14. I was so happy that FINALLY I found the right theme that really suites my eyes. The theme was the Pristine OS 1.2. Yet another Vista inspired theme. This theme is so eye friendly in any sense. This was kinda similar to the Royal Theme XP(except with the color) that was used by so many people, even on our school, they use the Royal Theme XP (heck!).

As of now this is the best visual style that I ever had. I’ve started using it and making some modifications on my icons. I’ve tried to use dock icons and they were great!!! I’m going to post some screenshot of my desktop when all is fixed.
